My F451

The book Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag is a fireman who doesn't put out fires, he starts them. He meets a girl who lives nearby and begins to speak with her. She makes him think about the world in a whole new way that Montag never thought about before. His wife, Mildred, later tells him that the girl died in a car crash and her parents moved out, leaving the house vaccant. On duty, Guy Montag and his crew went to a house which held an older women. Her attic was filled to the roof with books. Books in this distopian society are illegal to own, read, or look at. Doing any of the such, will result in jail time, and your house burning to ashes. Anyways, at the old women's house, she ended up staying with the books and lighting herself on fire with a kitchen match, causing all of the firemen to scurry away before burning. When Montag gets home, he hides a book under his pillow he stole from the women's  house. The police chief, Beatty, comes knocking on Montag's door. At this point, I think he suspects something about the book. Once he leaves, Montag shows Mildred, his wife, his secret hiding place which holds about twenty or so books. They go through each one and begin thinking for themselves for once... Montag finds a bible and calls up Faber who knows quite a bit about books. Montag goes to his house and they converse about the bible and plato and soon, Faber gives Montag, a green bullet to put in his ear to listen to conversations with. He goes back to his house where Mildred and her friends are having a get together. He becomes angry and reads a poem to her friends. One of them gets emotional and cries over the poem. Montag later goes to talk to Captain Beatty about books. An alarm sounds in the middle of their conversation and all of the firefighters go to Montag's house where the alarm came from. Beatty makes Montag burn his own house and his wife runs away in a taxi. Montag becomes furious at the captain and burns him as well.  We come to the conclusion that Beatty wanted to die, but i don't know if that's true or not. The rest of this novel is mainly about Montag running away with a small stack of books.
