Tone and mood on Earth on Turtle's Back

In the story, "Earth on Turtles Back", it has a set tone and mood. The tone, or authors attitude torward characters, is somewhat encouraging towards the muskrat who tried his hardest out of all the animals in the story. As for the mood, the story made me feel happy that the muskrat was successful in retrieving the "Earth." The king's wife can now live happily ever after on the Earth on land that the brave muskrat found.

  1. the tone of the author reflects in the mood of the story in many ways, including the muskrat part at the beginning of the story, however, there was more to the short story than that.
the tone was mysterious and unintentionally dark, especially since the author him/herself did not even have all of the information- this being known as the author literally states that he/she does not know.
the mood of this short story was somewhat whimsical and full of wonder, yet dark as well.
